Our children’s behavioral health services provide the intensive help necessary for healthy growth and development for children. The program is designed to provide a consistent and nurturing environment that produces positive change to meet the needs of children with emotional and behavioral concerns.

The teen counseling and behavioral health services at The Meadows Psychiatric Center helps to meet the needs of adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with relationships or behaviors at home, school or within their peer groups. A compassionate staff provides a supportive, nurturing and structured environment for each teenager.

Adult counseling and behavioral health services at The Meadows provides comprehensive mental health treatment in an interactive manner for persons 18 years of age or older. The goal of the program is to stabilize acute symptoms and enhance patient strengths and coping skills. Our adult behavioral health services offer the capability to assess, educate and refer patients who also have chemical abuse or dependency issues to providers.

Jessica is our Lead Social Service Therapist on our Adolescent Unit. Jessica has been with us a year and a half and started on the Children’s Unit. She shares, “I love helping people…truly. I feel I was called to do this type of work. I never knew I’d end up in mental health, but I’ve grown so much in my time here. I like getting to work with a variety of people from all walks of life and getting to know them. I’m super personable and outgoing so it really comes quite natural to me.” Jessica is the first in her in immediate family to attend college and she was born and raised in Harlem, NY.
