Mental Health Treatment for Adults

Adult counseling and behavioral health services at The Meadows Psychiatric Center and Universal Community Behavioral Health provide comprehensive mental health treatment in an interactive manner for patients 18 years of age or older. The goal of the program is to stabilize acute symptoms and enhance patient strengths and coping skills.

Patients are actively engaged in treatment through therapeutic and educational groups and individual interactions with clinical staff. A supportive, therapeutic environment is provided to assist patients in dealing with stressors and returning to the community.

Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health Program

Our behavioral healthcare hospital for adults specializes in treating those facing mental health issues of many types with a focus on treating each patient as an individual. We understand that every patient is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all treatment. Our initial assessment provides some insight into what you need, and we base your recovery journey around those specific needs.

Providing you the tools for short term and long term success is what we’re best at, and we strive to get to the root of the mental health issues and help you on your way to a healthier, happier life.

What Does the CDC Say About Mental Health in Americans?

Mental health issues are not uncommon, as more than 50% of Americans will be diagnosed at some point in their life. Yearly, 1 in 5 American adults face a mental health disorder, an astounding number from an issue that faces such stigma.

Not only do many Americans face mental health challenges, but 1 in 25 are diagnosed with severe mental illnesses, making mental health one of the most important health issues we face on a daily basis.

Adult Inpatient Mental Health Treatment Can Help

Although common, mental health disorders are not something that anyone should just have to live with. Treatment at a mental health facility makes a difference, and, although the type of treatment varies, the skills learned in treatment provides a building block towards recovery.

There is help through inpatient treatment at a behavioral health hospital or mental health services, crisis interventions and other treatment programs, all designed to get you the help you need, no matter the issue you face.

What Is Treatment at a Mental Health Hospital for Adults Like?

A supportive, therapeutic environment is provided at our adult inpatient program to assist individuals on their recovery journey. The program is designed to stabilize acute symptoms, enhance individual strengths, identify coping skills while utilizing personal medicine concepts and empower individuals as they return to the community after treatment services.

Adults are actively engaged in treatment through therapeutic and educational groups and group therapies as well as interaction with caring, encouraging staff. A strong support system is key, as is developing skills and tools while in treatment that can be built on and expanded after treatment.
