About The Meadows

A Peaceful Place to Grow and Get Well

The Meadows Psychiatric Center, a 119-bed private behavioral health care facility on a spacious 52-acre rural campus, is located minutes outside State College in Central Pennsylvania. As an integrated behavioral health care delivery system, The Meadows provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health treatment services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults.

Each unit on campus provides specialized care programs for every age group. Offering a wide referral network of providers throughout Central Pennsylvania, The Meadows represents a regional specialty system structured to meet the continuum of care demanded by patients, professionals and payers.

Treatment Philosophy

We believe that moderate to severe behavioral health challenges of children, adolescents and adults result from the interaction of biological, psychological and social factors. Treatment is individualized, person centered and recovery oriented.

A Message from our CEO

Welcome to The Meadows Psychiatric Center and Universal Community Behavioral Health (UCBH), a cornerstone of quality behavioral healthcare in Central Pennsylvania since 1984. The Meadows and UCBH take pride in providing comfort and quality care to those who choose our services. I am proud to say that we are constantly evolving, growing and enriching our programs to continue in this tradition of providing excellence in clinical behavioral healthcare.

The Meadows and UCBH serve more than 6000 patients annually with 119 licensed beds and Outpatient Services. In addition, UCBH Crisis Intervention Programs serve the community in 10 Pennsylvania counties reaching 25,000 annually through hotline and mobile outreach.

We are committed to continuously searching for new ways to improve our quality and make our hospital and Outpatient Services the best place for patients to receive their Behavioral Healthcare, for physicians to practice and for employees to work. It is our priority at The Meadows and UCBH to provide our patients with the treatment and resources needed to return to their communities as healthier individuals.

I am joined by a team of leaders who are experts in their field and share the vision and passion necessary to provide the best possible programs in the safest environment available. As a community resource, we also provide around-the-clock, no-cost assessments to ensure that those who need services can find the appropriate placement and level of treatment.

On behalf of The Meadows and UCBH, I thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your recovery. If you are looking for help for yourself or a loved one, I invite you to contact us today with questions or to receive more information on our programs and treatment team.

Sincerely,
David Grabowski, LCSW
