Pediatric Inpatient Mental Health

When your child has acute mental health needs due to severe symptoms, we offer a helping hand. Our pediatric inpatient psych program provides stabilization services for children ages 6 to 13. We address your child’s immediate needs and set the foundation for positive changes and healthy coping skills.

Pediatric Inpatient Mental Health in Pennsylvania: Why Choose Us?

Acute behavioral health issues in children, such as severe depression and self-harm, require specialized care. This is precisely what we offer at The Meadows Psychiatric Center.

At The Meadows, you’ll find:

  • Compassionate staff: Your child benefits from staff who have a genuine concern for their mental wellness. A child psychiatrist guides their care. Additional providers include nurses, therapists and social workers. We communicate regularly to coordinate the services your child needs to get better.
  • Pediatric focus: Our services are attentive to the ways children experience and heal from mental health issues. We use age-appropriate approaches to engage children in treatment, so they feel comfortable and listened to. These efforts help us quickly get to the source of your child’s symptoms and help them move forward.
  • Family involvement: At The Meadows, families play an important role in pediatric inpatient psych services. Your input is welcome during assessments, treatment meetings and discharge planning. Parents and caregivers take part in these discussions in person, virtually or over the phone — whichever is most convenient for you.
  • Academics: Inpatient pediatric mental health services do not need to get in the way of your child’s education. On-site licensed teachers provide daily instruction. At discharge, we contact your school district to help them support your child’s ongoing mental health needs.
