Psychiatric Treatment in Central Pennsylvania
The Meadows Psychiatric Center is located on a beautiful 52-acre campus in a valley of gently rolling farmland, minutes outside State College in Central Pennsylvania. The quiet, peaceful, rural setting provides a calming environment that is very conducive to recovery. Recently updated rooms, community spaces and recreational areas are designed for comfort and safety for a holistic approach to treatment. As an integrated behavioral health care delivery system, The Meadows provides comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Treatment is based on age-appropriate care.
The Meadows is a licensed facility and is also accredited by The Joint Commission.
Acute Inpatient Programs
Acute inpatient programs offer intensive care to children, adolescents and adults. It is designed to help patients stabilize from acute symptoms of a mental health disorder. Treatment takes place in a consistent and nurturing environment with 24-hour supervision by licensed nurses and physicians. The goal is to enhance patients’ coping skills so they may return home or to a lower level of care as quickly as possible.

Child Inpatient Program
With compassionate staff, a pediatric focus, family involvement and academics top of mind, our child inpatient program treats severe mental health issues in children ages 6 to 13. This specialized care is designed to meet your child where they are in their mental health journey and to help them take positive steps forward.
Adolescent Inpatient Program
With compassion, personalized treatment, family-focused care and academic options, our adolescent inpatient program focuses on stabilizing your teen and treating mental health issues that negatively affect their daily lives. The program, designed for teens ages 14 to 17, understands the importance of getting your loved one the help they need, now, so that their mental health issue does not have a long-term impact on their lives.
Adult Inpatient Program
With compassion, prompt admission, medical management and a serene environment, our adult inpatient program treats mental health challenges in adults ages 18 and up. If mental health issues are negatively affecting your everyday life, then our program is for you.
